Privacy & Data Governance Counsel — Digital Assets & Stablecoin Integration

Major, Lindsey & Africa is looking for a Privacy & Data Governance Counsel — Digital Assets & Stablecoin Integration

Job description

Privacy & Data Governance Counsel — Digital Assets & Stablecoin Integration

This is one of the most interesting integrations happening in payments right now — a major global payments company bringing a stablecoin infrastructure business into the fold — and they need sharp privacy counsel to help steer it in this project. This isn't a back-office compliance seat; you're right in the middle of fiat-to-stablecoin flows, blockchain settlement, cross-border data sharing, and the messy, fascinating privacy questions that come with regulated money moving on-chain.

You'll be advising on privacy and data governance across digital assets, stablecoins, blockchain, payments, and money transmission — supporting the post-close integration of the acquired business, cleaning up diligence findings, and getting everything aligned with the parent company's privacy framework. Expect to be hands-on with privacy-by-design reviews, data mapping, international transfer analysis, and risk assessments, plus the trickier stuff: wallet data, Travel Rule considerations, fraud and financial crime intersections, and complex data-sharing arrangements with partners and customers. Day to day, you're the go-to for practical privacy counsel across the integration, remediation work, commercial deals, and product initiatives.

Who they need: a mid-to-senior privacy lawyer, 7+ years in privacy, data protection or regulatory advisory, ideally with real exposure to fintech, payments, digital assets or blockchain. You'll know your way around GDPR, UK GDPR, GLBA, and the US state privacy patchwork, and have done post-acquisition integration or compliance remediation before. Bonus points for stablecoin or virtual currency product experience, AML/sanctions/Travel Rule familiarity, and comfort working across multinational teams on cross-border data flows. This is a 6 month project initially, with potential to extend.

If you like being early on the regulatory frontier of digital assets, where the law is still catching up to the tech, do get in touch.
