HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Abingdon
Pay: £15.00 to £16.00 per hour
Job type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Minimum payment: 8 hours per shift

A temporary opportunity is available for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to work night shifts in Abingdon. This role would suit a reliable and safety-conscious driver who is confident operating a rigid vehicle and using a tail lift.

Key responsibilities

Complete scheduled night-time deliveries and collections safely and efficiently
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues
Load, unload and handle goods using a tail lift
Secure loads correctly and follow safe manual-handling procedures
Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records
Provide a professional service at collection and delivery points
Follow all relevant road, transport and company safety requirements

Skills and qualifications

Valid HGV Class 2 licence
Current Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card
Previous experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles
Practical experience using a tail lift
Good knowledge of vehicle safety and load security
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Strong communication skills and a professional approach
Good understanding of UK roads and safe driving practices
