Job description
Employment Senior Associate (5+ PQE) | Employer-Focused Practice | Clear Route to Partnership
If you’re an Employment Solicitor looking for greater autonomy and a genuine route towards partnership, this is an opportunity to take a senior role within a growing Employment practice where progression is based on contribution rather than time served.
You’ll act as a trusted adviser to businesses ranging from owner-managed companies through to complex international groups, taking ownership of sophisticated employment matters while playing an active role in the continued growth of the team.
The Firm
This is a distinctive multidisciplinary professional services firm bringing together lawyers, accountants, tax advisers, financial advisers and other specialists under one roof. The model means lawyers regularly work alongside professionals from other disciplines to solve broader commercial issues rather than approaching matters solely from a legal perspective.
The firm has a particularly international client base and advises entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses alongside established international groups. The wider platform provides expertise across areas including Corporate, Tax, Immigration, Insolvency and Accountancy, creating a strong internal network for collaboration and cross-referrals.
Culturally, the firm deliberately takes a less traditional approach to professional services. There is a strong emphasis on straight-talking commercial advice, personality and collaboration, with lawyers encouraged to contribute ideas and play a visible role in the wider business.
The Role
You will join the Employment team as a Senior Associate, predominantly advising employer clients across a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Your work will include complex disciplinary and grievance matters, redundancies and reorganisations, TUPE, senior executive exits, negotiated settlements, restrictive covenants and employment documentation. You will also handle Employment Tribunal litigation across matters including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract.
The firm's multidisciplinary structure adds another dimension to the practice. You will work closely with Corporate colleagues on M&A and restructurings, alongside Tax specialists on employee incentives and share schemes, with further opportunities to collaborate with Immigration and Accountancy teams.
At Senior Associate level, you will have genuine autonomy over your caseload and direct relationships with clients. You will also supervise and mentor junior lawyers, contribute to business development and help shape the Employment practice as it continues to grow.
Importantly, there is a clear and genuine route towards partnership. The firm has a track record of progressing lawyers internally, with advancement based on performance and contribution rather than a fixed PQE timetable.
