Senior Project Manager - Procurement Transformation

Duration: Initial 6 Months

Location: Reading or Dublin (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Day Rate (Inside IR35)


We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead strategic Procurement Transformation initiatives within a major international retail organisation.


This role will drive high-priority projects focused on spend management, procurement excellence, cost optimisation, governance enhancements, and operational improvement, while coordinating a wider portfolio of Procurement Excellence initiatives. You will also act as the key link between Procurement Excellence and broader Source-to-Pay transformation programmes, ensuring alignment across dependencies, risks, and delivery plans.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of procurement transformation projects and strategic change initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in spend visibility, procurement controls, compliance, and governance.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple Procurement Excellence workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Manage project plans, RAID logs, governance, reporting, and dependency management.
  • Build strong relationships across Procurement, Finance, Technology, Commercial, and Operations teams.
  • Support business readiness, stakeholder engagement, and change adoption activities.
  • Track benefits realisation, ensuring measurable business outcomes are delivered.
  • Align Procurement Excellence initiatives with wider Source-to-Pay transformation programmes.


What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience delivering complex transformation programmes within large organisations.
  • Strong background in Procurement Transformation, Spend Management, Cost Optimisation, Procurement Excellence, or Operational Improvement.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, supplier management, contract management, and governance.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional stakeholder groups.
  • Strong governance, planning, reporting, risk, and dependency management skills.
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable track record delivering business change and measurable benefits.


Desirable Experience

  • Retail sector experience.
  • Source-to-Pay transformation programmes.
  • Procurement technology or digital transformation initiatives.
  • PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, Agile, or equivalent project management certifications.
