Technical Interior Designer / CAD Technician – Vectorworks

London | Outside IR35 | 2–3 Month Contract | Immediate Start | Up to £300/day (DOE)


A leading interior design practice is looking for an experienced Technical Interior Designer / CAD Technician with strong Vectorworks skills to join its London team on an initial 2–3 month contract.

The role will focus on delivering a comprehensive Stage 3 drawing package, working closely with the design team to develop and coordinate detailed technical information. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong designer or CAD technician to join an established practice and contribute to a live project from an advanced stage of design development.



The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate, detailed and well-coordinated technical information using Vectorworks, ensuring the drawing package is delivered to a high professional standard and within project deadlines.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing Stage 3 drawing packages in Vectorworks.
  • Developing detailed plans, elevations, sections, construction details and associated drawings.
  • Translating design intent into technically robust and buildable information.
  • Coordinating drawings and technical information with the wider project team.
  • Working closely with interior designers, architects, consultants and other project stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and updating drawings in response to design development and technical changes.
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy, consistency and attention to detail throughout the drawing package.


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background within interior design, with proven experience producing detailed drawing packages in Vectorworks.

The practice is particularly interested in candidates with experience across retail, hospitality or other high-quality commercial interiors. However, architects with a strong interiors background and excellent Vectorworks skills will also be considered.


The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Excellent Vectorworks skills.
  • Proven experience delivering Stage 3 technical drawing packages.
  • A background in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of interior detailing, construction and technical drawing standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to drawing production.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider project team.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced design environment and to tight deadlines.
  • London-based and ideally available to work full time on site.

IR35: Outside IR35

Working pattern: Ideally full time on site

Day Rate: Up to £300/day (DOE)

Start: Immediate / ASAP preferred



This is a great opportunity for a technically focused Interior Designer, Interior Architect or CAD Technician with strong Vectorworks experience to secure an immediate contract with a well-regarded London practice.
