Interim Fund Formation Lawyer | Private Funds | London

Location: London, hybrid working with regular office attendance

Duration: Initial 6 months

Start: Immediate Start

Rate: Competitive day rate depending on experience or FTC

We are working with a leading investment business looking to appoint an experienced Interim Fund Formation Lawyer to support its in-house legal team for an initial 3–6 month period.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on private funds and fund formation, working closely with the investment team, senior stakeholders and external counsel.

The role

The successful lawyer will support across the legal aspects of establishing and managing investment funds, with responsibilities likely to include:

• Advising on fund formation and structuring matters
• Supporting new fund launches and related documentation
• Managing and coordinating external counsel
• Working directly with the investment team and senior stakeholders
• Providing day-to-day legal support across private funds and investment management matters
• Picking up work independently within a small, experienced legal team
• The ideal candidate

We are particularly interested in lawyers with:

• Strong private funds / fund formation experience
• Experience gained within a leading law firm, investment manager, asset manager or similar environment
• The ability to independently manage fund formation matters
• Confidence working directly with investment professionals and senior stakeholders
• Strong experience managing external counsel
• Availability to start at relatively short notice

Previous in-house experience would be beneficial, although lawyers coming directly from private practice with strong funds experience will also be considered.
