Reed Accountancy Oxford are currently partnering with a highly respected law firm in East Oxfordshire who are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Cashier to join a well-established Finance Team. Working within a busy team as an additional headcount, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, supporting colleagues across the business and maintaining compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Cashier and Finance leadership team with the day-to-day running of the department
  • Process daily legal finance transactions, including payments and receipts
  • Carry out daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate client and office account records
  • Reconcile control accounts and assist with financial reporting requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team
  • Handle and resolve complex internal finance queries
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal procedures
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements and support the implementation of new systems where required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience within a legal finance or legal cashiering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Experience operating at a senior level within a legal finance team
  • ILFM Diploma preferred, or willingness to work towards the qualification
  • Experience using legal accounting software
  • Previous experience with practice and case management systems would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
