Junior Sheet Metal Fabricators (Permanent) - 4-day week, Fridays off

We're recruiting reliable, motivated Junior Sheet Metal Fabricators to join a large, experienced production team on a permanent basis. This role would suit someone with a strong work ethic and a keen interest in learning how to run press machines.

Hours: Mon-Wed 07:00-17:30 & Thurs 07:00-16:30 (full-time hours over 4 days) - every Friday off

The role

You'll operate fabrication machinery and produce high-precision sheet metal components and sub-assemblies, working from engineering drawings and to a defined schedule.

Duties include:

  • Setting up and operating fabrication machines including guillotines, bandsaws and presses
  • Producing and assembling detailed parts for assemblies and welded assemblies
  • Laying out, measuring and marking materials from drawings/templates using hand tools and calculators
  • Using measuring equipment to confirm dimensions meet drawing requirements
  • Reading and following engineering drawings/lofts, procedures and work instructions
  • Attending and participating in daily stand-up meetings
  • Working to all health & safety, quality and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting workplace organisation and continuous improvement
  • Maintaining a tidy, safe working environment
  • Completing other duties within your capabilities as required

Essential:

  • Experience operating fabrication machinery (e.g. Guillotine/bandsaw/press)
  • Ability to work in a team to deliver parts on time
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability and a quality-focused approach
  • Motivation and a strong desire to learn press machine operation (main requirement)

Desirable (preferable):

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes within aerospace or automotive
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and aerospace specifications
  • Practical problem solving, analysis and decision-making skills
