An exciting opportunity has arisen for either an Assistant or a mid level Estimator to join an established and highly regarded main contractor delivering a diverse range of complex and high value schemes across the UK, from £50m - £350m+.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious estimator who has developed a solid grounding in construction estimating and is now looking to take the next step in their career within a professional, collaborative and commercially focused environment.

You will work closely with the pre-construction, commercial and operational teams, playing a key role in preparing competitive and accurate tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.


Estimator Roles & Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates and tenders for building projects.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and other tender documentation.
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Identifying opportunities, risks and potential cost savings within tenders.
  • Producing bills of quantities, pricing schedules and tender submissions.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients as required.
  • Supporting the preparation of tender programmes and preliminaries.
  • Attending tender meetings, site visits and clarification meetings.
  • Working closely with the commercial and construction teams to ensure a smooth handover of successful projects.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of current market conditions, labour rates, material costs and subcontractor pricing.


Estimator requirements

  • 3+ years Estimating experience
  • Experience working for either a tier 1 main contractor or a large tier 2 main contractor
  • Experience across the commercial sector, any other sectors are a bonus
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software.
