Lettings Assistant

EC Recruitment Limited is looking for a Lettings Assistant

Job description

Lettings Assistant

Cambridge Area

Flexible Hours

£27,000 per annum FTE

Are you organised, observant and looking for a property role that offers plenty of variety, independence and the opportunity to be out and about rather than sitting behind a desk all day?

We are working with an established and highly regarded property company based just outside Cambridge to find a Lettings Assistant to join their friendly and experienced team.

Working alongside and supporting the Property Management team across a varied portfolio of residential and student properties in Cambridge and the surrounding areas, this is a hands-on role where attention to detail and good communication are key.

The company places real importance on both customer service and looking after its people. Their values of teamwork, respect, integrity, commitment, empowerment and professionalism are at the heart of the business, alongside a genuine focus on employee wellbeing and creating an environment where people feel valued and supported.

The company is happy to consider both full-time and part-time applicants, with flexibility around working arrangements for the right person.

The Role

This is a varied role supporting the Property Management team and will see you spending much of your time out visiting properties across Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

Your main focus will be carrying out inventories and check-outs, carefully inspecting properties and accurately recording their condition. You will also support the team with property viewings when required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out property inventories
  • Conducting check-outs at the end of tenancies
  • Accurately recording the condition and contents of properties
  • Taking clear supporting photographs where required
  • Identifying and recording damage, maintenance or cleanliness issues
  • Producing clear and accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Supporting Property Managers with property viewings when required
  • Liaising with tenants, prospective tenants and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
  • Travelling between properties across Cambridge and the surrounding area

About You

You will have previous experience working within the property industry, ideally within residential lettings or property management, and a good understanding of the lettings environment.

You don't necessarily need to have worked specifically as an Inventory Clerk, but you will need to be comfortable working with properties, tenants and colleagues and understand the importance of accurate and detailed reporting.

As the role involves travelling between properties, you must hold a clean UK driving licence and be confident driving a manual vehicle.

  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable and comfortable working independently
  • Friendly, approachable and confident dealing with people
  • Able to manage your own time and appointments effectively
  • A good communicator and supportive team player
  • Professional and conscientious in your approach

Previous experience within property, lettings or inventories would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant transferable skills will also be considered.

As the role involves travelling between properties, you must hold a clean UK driving licence and be confident driving a manual vehicle.

Salary & Benefits

£27,000 per annum based on full-time hours, pro rata for part-time employees.

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and work-life balance, including:

  • Full-time or part-time opportunities with flexible/agile working encouraged
  • Company contributory pension scheme
  • Optional private healthcare scheme following three months' service
  • 30 days' annual leave for full-time employees, including UK public holidays and office closure on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
  • Additional annual leave for length of service, up to five extra days
  • Group life cover of two times basic salary from your first day of employment
  • Funded eyesight tests every other year
  • Regular company-funded social events and activities
  • Training and opportunities for professional development
  • Access to a Mental Health First Aider
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Wellbeing activities throughout the year

This is a great opportunity to join an established property business in a varied support role where you'll have plenty of independence while still being part of a friendly and supportive team.

Whether you're looking for a full-time position or something that gives you greater flexibility around your other commitments, we'd be very happy to hear from you.
