Planning Manager – Major Infrastructure
Rate: £450 per day Umbrella
Location: London
Contract: 6 month contract
We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to support a major infrastructure project, providing leadership and technical expertise across the planning function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex project and programme schedules across multiple contractors.
- Develop, update and monitor client programmes and critical paths.
- Identify schedule risks and issues, providing mitigation and recovery plans.
- Produce programme progress, performance and summary reports for senior stakeholders.
- Review contractor programmes, compensation events and schedule-related commercial matters.
- Lead planning workshops and agree progress reporting with contractors.
- Provide guidance and supervision to project planners.
- Improve planning processes, methodologies and reporting standards.
Essential Experience
- Strong experience in project/programme planning within major infrastructure projects.
- Good knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly compensation events.
- Experience managing contractor programmes in a multi-contract environment.
- Experience with Primavera, Primavera Enterprise or similar planning software.
- Strong critical path, schedule management and project controls experience.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and commercial awareness.
Desirable: Railway/signalling experience and knowledge of Earned Value Analysis.
