Employee & Industrial Relations Manager
Salary: up to £80,000
Contract: Permanent
Reporting to: Head of HR
MLC Partners are recruiting an Employee & Industrial Relations Manager for a leading healthcare organisation providing highly specialised pathology and clinical laboratory services to clinicians, hospitals and community healthcare providers across the UK.
Operating within a complex, highly regulated and heavily unionised environment, the organisation is looking for an experienced ER/IR professional to lead its employee relations agenda, strengthen trade union relationships and manage a team of four HR Advisers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead trade union engagement, negotiation and formal consultation
- Develop a more proactive and effective industrial relations strategy
- Manage and develop a team of four HR Advisers
- Oversee a high-volume and complex ER caseload
- Advise senior stakeholders on sensitive ER and IR matters
- Support work around pay, terms and conditions and employment frameworks
- Improve manager capability and consistency in handling ER issues
About you
You will have:
- Strong experience working in a heavily unionised environment
- Direct experience of collective bargaining, consultation and dispute resolution
- A strong background in complex employee relations
- Previous people management experience
- Strong employment law knowledge
- The credibility and resilience to work with senior stakeholders and experienced trade union representatives
Experience within healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, the NHS, public sector or another complex and regulated environment would be advantageous.
