FRACTIONAL: French & German Speaking Commercial/Tech Lawyer - Fully Remote

Major, Lindsey & Africa is looking for a FRACTIONAL: French & German Speaking Commercial/Tech Lawyer - Fully Remote

Job description

French & German Commercial/Technology Lawyer | Flexible / On-Demand | Fractional Basis

UK or continental Europe Flexible, on-demand engagement — no fixed weekly hours ⏱ Ongoing, ad hoc basis

Our client, a US-headquartered global tech company, is expanding its enterprise B2B sales into Europe — with France and Germany as its lead markets, and further expansion into Spain, Portugal and beyond on the horizon. Its enterprise software product is aimed at Fortune 500-scale clients, and its legal and sales team is now looking to engage a flexible resource to assist with contracting support entry into the French and German markets.

This is a fractional, on-demand engagement rather than a fixed-hours role — ideal for an experienced contractor who already works this way across multiple clients and is comfortable with variable, deal-driven demand (which may mean quiet stretches followed by a run of concurrent negotiations).

What you'll be doing

  • Negotiating SaaS/software commercial contracts in France and Germany, using either the client's own translated templates or third-party paper in the relevant language
  • Applying working knowledge of French and German contract law market standards to get deals over the line
  • Turning around negotiations to a fast SLA — typically 2–3 business days' notice
  • Working directly with the client's commercial/sales teams on a deal-by-deal basis

What we're looking for

  • Fluent French and/or German, alongside strong commercial/SaaS contract negotiation experience; bar admission in France or Germany is not required - but an understanding of the nuances of their market is ideal
  • Background with in-house or tech-sector experience (e.g. Enterprise software/SaaS) strongly preferred
  • Comfortable operating autonomously across multiple clients and competing priorities, with strong self-management of SLAs and deadlines
  • Nice to have: experience negotiating with public sector or quasi-governmental entities in France and/or Germany
  • Open to contractors based in the UK or elsewhere in Europe

This is a flexible engagement with no minimum hours commitment — well suited to a contractor building a portfolio of clients, or a senior lawyer looking for high-value, deal-based work on their own terms.
