Angove Partners are working with an insurance underwriter based in London, who are looking to bring on a M&A lawyer.


About this role:

You will underwrite W&I insurance policies related to M&A transactions and run the insurance transactional process alongside —working closely with private equity firms, corporates, lawyers, and insurers.


What will you be doing:

  • Reviewing and negotiating W&I insurance policy wordings.
  • Responding to insured counsel comments and proposed amendments to policy language
  • Drafting bespoke endorsements, exclusions, limitations, and W&I-specific coverage provisions
  • Advising underwriters internally on wording risk and legal interpretation issue
  • Stress-testing wording against potential claims scenarios and litigation outcomes
  • Helping maintain and update precedent wordings, clause libraries, and internal knowledge resources
  • Working closely with W&I underwriters and claims teams on complex technical points
  • Assessing whether requested wording changes materially alter the insurer’s risk position
  • Analysing transaction documents (SPAs, disclosure letters, tax deeds, structuring memos)


About you:

• 2-7 years experience working as an M&A lawyer for a reputable law firm

• Strong understanding of deal processes and transaction dynamics

• Commercial mindset with excellent negotiation skills

• Ability to manage multiple deals in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
