Regulatory Engagement Manager

PSD Group is looking for a Regulatory Engagement Manager

Job description

My client is one of the UK's leading personal lines Insurers who are on an exciting journey of expansion and transformation.

This role requires strong regulatory engagement experience and established credibility at a senior level. The key requirement is a candidate who has managed high-profile relationships with regulators, ideally the FCA and/or PRA, either from an insurer, wider financial services organisation, or directly from a regulatory body.

Strong understanding of the UK regulatory landscape, particularly Consumer Duty, and confidence advising and challenging senior stakeholders up to Board level, is essential. The successful candidate will act as the central point of coordination for regulator engagement, ensuring communications are proactive, consistent and well managed, while supporting executives in preparing for regulatory meetings and supervisory activity.

We are less focused on traditional compliance activity and more interested in someone who can build trusted regulator relationships, navigate complex regulatory discussions, and provide strategic regulatory insight and guidance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Acting as the central coordinator for all FCA and PRA engagement, leading a proactive regulatory engagement strategy
  • Overseeing responses to regulatory requests, ensuring a single, consistent version of the truth across all communications
  • Providing constructive challenge to stakeholders up to Board level
  • Owning governance and oversight of regulatory commitments, actions and deadlines — escalating risks promptly
  • Preparing senior management for regulator meetings, including briefings and key messaging
  • Horizon scanning regulatory developments and translating these into practical insight for internal stakeholders
  • Line management of 1-2 colleagues as the capability matures (not initially required)

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience managing high-profile regulator relationships — ideally FCA and/or PRA — from an insurer, wider financial services firm, or a regulatory body itself
  • Strong working knowledge of the UK regulatory landscape, particularly Consumer Duty
  • Confidence advising, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders up to Board level
  • A track record of leading on regulatory communications, submissions and supervisory engagement
  • Someone who thinks strategically rather than operating as a traditional compliance generalist
  • Excellent judgement under pressure — comfortable coordinating across Compliance, Risk, Legal and Company Secretariat
