Job description

Digital Workplace Architect – Power Platform / Microsoft 365 / Azure

Location: Hybrid – 2 Office Days p/w in either London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester or Leeds

Contract: 22-month Fixed-Term Contract

Salary: £63,484 + skills supplement of up to £10,347

London Allowance: Additional £4,775 where applicable

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced Digital Workplace Architect to join a large, complex UK organisation undergoing significant digital and technology transformation.

This is a senior technical architecture role focused on Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will translate business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions, define the architecture and integrations, and provide technical direction to engineering teams throughout delivery.

A significant proportion of the work will involve applications and automation built using Power Platform, rather than traditional EUC support or administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of Power Platform, M365 and Azure solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical and solution designs.
  • Architect applications and automation using Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
  • Define APIs, custom connectors and integrations with existing systems.
  • Produce HLDs, LLDs and architecture documentation.
  • Guide engineering teams through development, testing, UAT and go-live.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, governance and architecture standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the Digital Workplace function.

What We're Looking For

You should have strong Solution/Technical Architecture experience within Microsoft environments, including several of the following:

  • Microsoft Power Platform – Power Apps / Power Automate
  • Dataverse
  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • APIs, integrations and custom connectors
  • Entra ID / IAM
  • SharePoint Online
  • PowerShell and automation
  • HLD / LLD production
  • Enterprise / Solution Architecture

Knowledge of C#/.NET, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and JSON would be beneficial. This is not a hands-on development role, but you should have sufficient technical understanding to guide engineers and make informed architecture decisions.

We're looking for someone who has already operated at a genuine architecture level, taking ownership of solutions from requirements through design and into delivery, while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Relevant Microsoft certifications, including Power Platform / PL-600, and TOGAF knowledge would be advantageous but are not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.

Experience within public sector, regulated, critical infrastructure or other large-scale environments would also be beneficial.

Location & Package

You can be based from one of the organisation's hubs in London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester or Leeds.

The role operates on a blended home/office model, with around two days per week onsite as a general benchmark, although some flexibility may be available.

The package consists of £63,484 basic salary plus a Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) supplement of up to £10,347. London-based candidates may also receive an additional £4,775 London allowance.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo Security Check (SC) vetting. Existing clearance is beneficial but is not required to apply.
