Import Merchandiser

Manchester

Own the product journey from first brief to final delivery.

I'm recruiting for a well-established import-led product business in Manchester that's looking for an Import Merchandiser to take real ownership of costings, factory negotiation and critical path.

This isn't an admin-heavy support role. You'll be the person overseas factories hear from every day, the person holding the schedule together, and the person whose negotiation directly moves the margin.

What you'll actually be doing

Taking briefs from customers and the buying team and driving them through development, sampling and bulk production.

Building seasonal critical paths and defending them. Negotiating costings with factories to hit commercial targets.

Deciding which factory is right for each product based on capability, price, quality and capacity. Raising and managing POs, chasing progress, solving quality and delivery problems before they become anyone else's problem, and working with freight forwarders through to final delivery.

What you'll need

- Proven experience in import merchandising, production merchandising or factory-facing role

- Hands-on costings and price negotiation with factories

- Strong critical-path management, ideally across seasonal collections

- A solid grip on the full development-to-delivery process

- Direct experience working with overseas factories and suppliers

- Commercial awareness — costs, pricing and margins

- Strong Excel

Nice to have

- Background in fashion, apparel, accessories, homeware or consumer goods

- Existing overseas factory relationships

- Comfort in customer-facing meetings
