Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Van Driver role based in Crewe. The Van Driver will be responsible for safely collecting, transporting, and delivering parcels and pallets to customers and partner locations within agreed timelines. Daily tasks include vehicle checks, loading and unloading goods, following planned routes, and completing delivery documentation and proof-of-delivery records. The role involves liaising with dispatchers and customer service teams, adhering to company procedures and road safety regulations, and maintaining a clean and well-presented vehicle. The Van Driver will also assist with basic route planning, report any incidents or delays, and provide courteous, professional service to customers.
Qualifications
  • Strong driving skills with a valid UK driving licence and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to handle loading and unloading of parcels and pallets, including basic manual handling skills.
  • Good knowledge of local and regional road networks, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with dispatchers, colleagues, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Basic administrative skills to manage delivery notes, proof-of-delivery records, and route documentation.
  • Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Previous experience in courier, logistics, or haulage operations is beneficial but not essential.
