Head of Major Projects
Day Rate: £700 - £750 per day (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office
We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Major Projects to lead the delivery of a significant programme of capital projects across a large and varied property portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing a portfolio of high-value refurbishment, planned maintenance, decarbonisation and capital projects from inception through to completion. You will provide programme-wide oversight, ensure effective governance and drive successful delivery against time, cost and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of major capital and revenue projects.
- Manage a portfolio of refurbishment, planned maintenance and decarbonisation schemes.
- Provide strategic programme management and governance oversight.
- Develop project scopes, business cases and procurement strategies.
- Manage project budgets, risks and contractual performance.
- Lead relationships with senior stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with agreed objectives.
About You
- Significant experience delivering complex capital projects and programmes.
- Strong understanding of construction, refurbishment and project delivery processes.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Professional qualification or membership such as RICS, CIOB, RIBA or equivalent is highly desirable
