Job description
A growing international business is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team.
This is a broad and hands-on role, offering exposure to structured finance, trading, derivatives and wider commercial work. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing practical and commercially focused legal advice in a fast-moving environment.
What you will do
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of structured finance, derivatives, trading and commercial agreements.
- Support financing transactions and strategic projects, from structuring through to execution and ongoing contractual matters.
- Advise on derivatives and trading documentation, including ISDA documentation where relevant.
- Provide clear advice on contractual rights, risk allocation and practical dispute avoidance.
- Work closely with commercial, finance, risk and operational stakeholders.
- Help develop legal processes, templates and playbooks as the business continues to grow.
About you
- England and Wales qualified solicitor with around 2 to 3 years’ PQE.
- Strong training and experience at a top-tier law firm, ideally in structured finance, derivatives, banking and finance, structured products or a closely related practice.
- Hands-on derivatives experience would be particularly attractive, including ISDA or comparable market-standard documentation.
- Strong drafting skills, sound commercial judgement and confidence dealing directly with senior stakeholders.
- Genuinely interested in moving in-house and taking ownership of a broad, business-facing legal remit.
