Contract Type: Permanent

Do you want to grow and lead a water team, not just work in one?

We are looking for an experienced Principal Water Environment Specialist to lead our growing water team and help shape the future of our multidisciplinary environmental consultancy.

This is more than a technical role. We're looking for someone who enjoys building client relationships, leading projects from concept to completion, mentoring others and helping to grow a thriving team.

You'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK, delivering solutions in hydrology, flood risk, sustainable drainage, water quality and environmental permitting. Working alongside our Ecology, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Risk & Permitting teams, you'll help clients navigate complex environmental challenges with practical, commercially focused advice.

As part of the wider Ecology Group, you'll have the opportunity to influence the growth of our Water Environment services across a much broader business, opening the door to exciting multidisciplinary and international opportunities.

If you are a Chartered Water Environment professional (C.WEM, C.Eng or equivalent), have significant UK consultancy experience in hydrology, flood risk and water environment projects and are looking for a role where you'll have real influence, autonomy and the opportunity to leave your mark then we’d love to hear from you.

Who we are

Johns Associates Ltd are a passionate multidisciplinary team covering ecology, landscape architecture, the water environment (including water quality, water resources, flood risk, hydrology and aquatic ecology), environmental impact assessment, environmental risk and geospatial technical areas. We are committed to delivering sustainable solutions that positively impact our clients, communities, and natural systems. Our approach combines expert advice, innovative design, and practical implementation to achieve meaningful environmental outcomes.

We want our team to reflect the diversity of the communities we work with. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives and are committed to making our recruitment process accessible and inclusive. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.
