SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School | Newbury

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional learning needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students with SEN in the classroom to help them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Working one-to-one and in small groups to build students' confidence, independence and engagement.
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to monitor progress and adapt support where needed.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Providing personal care or mobility support where required.
- Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with school staff and parents.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
- A caring, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Qualifications in education, childcare or SEN are advantageous but not required.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.
