We're looking for a Internal Communications Officer to join us on a journey on a fixed term maternity cover contract until 31 December 2027. This role is about more than just day-to-day responsibilities, it's about shaping how we inspire our customers, support our stores, and grow our community of adventurers.

What you'll be doing
As our Internal Communications Officer (Maternity Cover), you'll help keep colleagues across the business informed, engaged, and connected. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you'll deliver engaging communications, support colleague engagement initiatives, and ensure key business updates are communicated clearly and effectively through a range of internal channels.
Deliver day-to-day internal communications across digital channels, including email and online newsletters
Produce and manage the weekly company e-newsletter, from content planning and copywriting to design and distribution
Create engaging communications materials and content that support business priorities and colleague engagement
Support colleague engagement surveys, including preparation, analysis of results, and communication of outcomes
Coordinate and assist with colleague feedback initiatives, including monthly forums and engagement activities
Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand communication needs and provide practical, effective solutions
Support the delivery of internal events and business update meetings, helping to drive engagement and connection across the organisation
We're looking for someone who
Has previous experience in an internal communications role, or a background in journalism or marketing, and is ready to take the next step in their career
Has experience creating engaging newsletters, emails and other communication materials using design software
Is confident using creative design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or similar platforms
Has excellent copywriting skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging and accessible communications
Demonstrates exceptional proofreading and attention-to-detail skills, ensuring content is accurate and professional
Builds strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders
Is confident presenting to audiences of varying sizes and facilitating discussions and engagement activities
Is highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work proactively using their own initiative
Handles confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Has video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, Clipchamp or similar software (desirable but not essential)
