The firm is looking to appoint an experienced Non-Contentious IP Solicitor to its UK team, based in the Bristol area.
This role would suit a solicitor with a strong background in non-contentious intellectual property work, combined with solid experience advising on IT, IP and commercial agreements.
The Role
You will advise a broad range of clients on complex and commercially important IP matters, working alongside experienced IP lawyers, patent attorneys and trade mark attorneys.
Your work is likely to include:
- Advising on non-contentious intellectual property matters, including the protection, exploitation and commercialisation of IP rights
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating IP, IT and commercial agreements
- Advising on software, technology and IP licensing arrangements
- Providing strategic advice around intellectual property rights in commercial contexts
- Supporting clients with IP protection and commercialisation strategies
- Advising on a range of wider commercial and technology matters
- Working closely with specialist IP professionals and clients on complex matters
- Keeping up to date with developments in IP law and related regulation
- Data protection experience would be advantageous, although not essential
What We're Looking For
The key requirement is strong non-contentious experience. This is not a role for a predominantly contentious IP solicitor looking to move into transactional work.
You should be:
- A qualified solicitor with approximately 2–8 years' PQE
- Experienced in non-contentious IP work
- Confident advising on intellectual property rights within commercial and transactional contexts
- Experienced in drafting and negotiating IT, IP and commercial agreements
- Commercially minded, with strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Comfortable handling complex matters and managing client relationships
- Able to work collaboratively with both lawyers and technical IP specialists
Experience across IP licensing, technology agreements, software, commercial contracts or wider IT/IP matters would be particularly attractive.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Join a highly regarded specialist IP firm
- Work alongside leading IP lawyers, patent attorneys and trade mark attorneys
- Handle high-quality, intellectually challenging and commercially significant work
- Gain exposure to UK and international clients
- Work within a genuinely specialist IP environment
- Excellent opportunity for continued career development
- Bristol-based opportunity with an established and growing team
If you're an experienced non-contentious IP solicitor with a strong grounding in IP rights, IT and commercial agreements, this could be an excellent opportunity to take your career forward within a specialist international IP practice.
