Insight Global are seeking a Control Room Analyst for a leading global investment management and financial services organisation.
This position requires 5 days onsite in London for a 12-month contract (Inside IR35) with possibility for extensions.
The Control Room Analyst plays a key role in monitoring market activity, assessing regulatory risk, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. This is a highly technical and analytical position, combining regulatory expertise with hands-on data analysis using SQL and Python. The successful candidate will investigate real-time alerts, validate positions, support risk management activities, and work closely with technology teams to enhance compliance tooling and reporting capabilities.
Must-Have Requirements Include:
- Strong experience working in a Control Room, Compliance, Risk, or Regulatory environment within financial services
- In-depth understanding of financial market regulations and compliance frameworks
- Ability to analyse large volumes of data and make risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Plusses Include:
- Experience supporting compliance or surveillance platforms
- Knowledge of position and concentration reporting processes
- Experience collaborating with engineering or development teams to enhance internal tools
- Background working within hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, or trading environments
- Experience developing or maintaining automated compliance workflows and scripts
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and investigate real-time compliance and market activity alerts
- Analyse position and transaction data using SQL and Python
- Assess regulatory obligations related to disclosure requirements, wall crossings, and position limits
- Escalate and document potential compliance risks where required
- Partner with technology and engineering teams to improve monitoring processes and internal reporting tools
- Maintain and enhance scripts used for compliance and risk monitoring
- Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of Control Room operations and workflows
