Job description
Underwriting Operations/Data Analyst
I’m working with a well-established specialty insurer with a profitable Lloyd’s platform, looking to appoint an Underwriting Operations Analyst to join its London team.
This is a varied role sitting close to the underwriting business, combining underwriting operations, data analysis, process improvement and change. You’ll work with underwriting and wider business teams to understand operational issues, analyse data and help improve the processes and tools that support the underwriting function.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing and reconciling underwriting and operational data, identifying trends, discrepancies and areas for improvement.
- Taking ownership of key underwriting processes, controls and operational activity.
- Investigating data and process issues and helping identify practical solutions.
- Working closely with underwriters and other stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and data quality.
- Supporting the delivery of process, system and technology improvements.
- Contributing to MI and reporting that supports underwriting and business decision making.
We’re looking for someone with previous commercial insurance experience, potentially gained within underwriting support, underwriting operations, insurance operations, MI or a similar analytical role.
You’ll need strong Excel and analytical skills and, importantly, the curiosity to investigate problems and understand what sits behind the data.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL or similar tools would be beneficial.
