Aramco Trading Limited (ATL) was incorporated in London in 2019. ATL carry out energy trading activities, in particular the trading, by way of procurement and sale of refined products, crude oil, specialty petroleum products and chemicals. In addition to physical trading, ATL also engage in a wide variety of activities including shipping, chartering, storage and trading of financial derivatives. The company has a widely diverse employee base with expertise in all aspects of the oil trading market. The rapidly expanding London team compliments our global network and provides constant coverage across all time zones. ATL is an active participant in hydrocarbon trading in Europe, Africa and the Americas, with wide variety of crude grades and different petroleum products. The Company has also been expanding its activities to include GAS business where trading Liquefied Petroleum Products (LPG) and Lignified Natural Gas (LNG) form part of the growing portfolio.


Aramco Trading Limited (ATL) are currently recruiting for a Charterer to join the team.


Duties include:

  • Work and plan with traders, operations, and chartering manager to develop an annual shipping strategy and ensure successful chartering plan
  • Conduct out chartering of TC fleet on short term physical charters, and optimsation of COA/SPOT fixtures to capture additional value
  • Work with traders to schedule and plan shipping positions alongside chartering in of external tonnage
  • Review trading strategies periodically with chartering manager and operation’s lead, as well as, monitoring and adjusting positions based on risk and trading limits
  • Review charter parties and recaps to provide feedback/comments prior to executing a deal
  • Negotiate, decide, and validate shipping deals, alongside finalizing charter terms and executing the deals
  • Input transaction details into the current system and ensuring the accuracy of any given terms
  • Work closely with the Settlement team to follow up on freight payment
  • Interact with ship owners, brokers, and any other involved parties to obtain market insight and develop a forward view of the shipping market. Utilise up to date knowledge of market conditions to provide optimsation opportunities
  • Coordinate with traders and operation’s schedulers to obtain and confirm vessel chartering requests
  • Coordinate with Finance team to provide information/data when required
  • Communicate with ship-owners and brokers in regards of contractual terms and conditions changes, and work with the freight and demurrage team to resolve contractual obligations on a timely basis
  • Work closely with Marine Quality Assurance, and KYC departments to obtain high level freight options and maintain database of key clients with KYC
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Manager


Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Economics or equivalent
  • A degree in Maritime Operations is preferred
  • Experience in a similar role in shipping logistics and chartering (freight/shipping)
  • Keep abreast of world demand and supply and the market’s dynamics
  • A broad network consisting of brokers and ship-owners
  • Good industry knowledge of international product and shipping market, ship chartering process, supply/demand fundamentals of freight markets, third party system parameters and the market’s competitors
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
