Job description
Senior HR Advisor | Woking | Hybrid – 3 days office & 2 days home | Salary £45,000 + Benefits
Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on resolving complex employee relations cases, enjoys influencing senior stakeholders and wants the opportunity to make a real impact?
Dalton Recruitment is partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Senior HR Advisor into its established People function at an exciting time of change and transformation.
Working closely with the People Director, Head of People Operations and People Business Partners, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across the organisation. This is a broad, hands-on position where you'll manage complex ER matters, coach and advise leaders, support organisational change and contribute to People projects that have genuine business impact.
If you're looking for a predictable, process-only HR role, this probably isn't it. If you enjoy variety, solving problems, building trusted relationships and helping a business navigate change, there's plenty here to get your teeth into.
What you'll be doing
You'll act as a trusted HR adviser to leaders and colleagues across the business, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice on a wide range of people matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing your own ER caseload, including absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary and flexible working matters
• Supporting the Head of People Operations with more complex and sensitive employee relations cases
• Coaching and advising managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice
• Supporting organisational change and wider business transformation projects
• Advising on employee lifecycle matters, including maternity and paternity processes
• Supporting effective performance management, including mid-year and annual appraisal processes
• Reviewing and developing People policies to ensure they remain legally compliant, practical and fit for purpose
• Using People data and trends to identify issues, opportunities and areas for improvement
• Supporting the People Director and wider People team on key projects and initiatives
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple UK locations
What we're looking for:
We're looking for an experienced HR professional who combines strong technical HR knowledge with the confidence to operate effectively in a busy, rapidly changing organisation.
You'll ideally bring:
• Strong experience managing complex Employee Relations cases
• Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation
• The credibility and communication skills to coach, influence and challenge managers effectively
• Experience supporting employees and stakeholders at different levels of an organisation
• Confidence handling sensitive and challenging situations professionally and empathetically
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience within a multi-site organisation
• Good analytical skills and confidence working with People data
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills and experience using HR systems (Oracle would be useful, but isn't essential)
Most importantly, you'll be pragmatic, resilient and comfortable rolling up your sleeves. You'll have a positive approach to change and the confidence to make recommendations rather than simply identify problems.
Location & working pattern
The role is based in Woking and requires 3 days per week in the office, with 2 days working from home. There will also be occasional travel to other UK offices and sites according to business needs, with business travel expenses covered.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor who wants greater exposure, complexity and influence. You'll work closely with senior People leaders, gain involvement in transformation and organisational change, and have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to the way the organisation manages and develops its people.
