Job description
We're working with a well-established property management business on the appointment of a Centre Manager for a prominent retail and leisure destination on the South Coast. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a busy, community-focused scheme attracting over 5 million visitors annually, with a diverse occupier mix, significant operational responsibility and a clear focus on driving commercial performance.
About the Role
You will be leading the day-to-day management of the destination, overseeing operations, service partners, occupier relationships, financial performance and customer experience, whilst working closely with the wider property and asset management teams to maximise the scheme's potential.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operational and commercial performance of a retail destination comprising over 40 occupiers and a multi-storey car park
- Manage service charge budgets in excess of £1 million, including budgeting, expenditure control and reporting
- Build strong relationships with occupiers, contractors, local stakeholders and community groups
- Drive customer engagement, footfall initiatives and commercialisation opportunities
- Oversee hard and soft FM services, compliance, health & safety and contractor performance
- Support leasing activity and work collaboratively with asset management teams to enhance income and occupancy
- Lead and develop on-site teams and service partners, ensuring high standards are maintained across the scheme
- Produce regular reporting on trading performance, operational activity and business plan objectives
Experience
We're open-minded on background and would be keen to speak with people working within:
- Shopping centre management
- Retail operations or area management
- Facilities Management (RFM or single site)
- Customer experience, destination or placemaking environments
- Store Management / Department Store Management
- Other operationally focused leadership roles with strong stakeholder management and commercial responsibility
Required Skills
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can build relationships, take ownership, make decisions and become a visible presence within both the scheme and the local community. You’ll be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities across operations, finance, occupier engagement and customer experience.
