Ecology Consultant – London / Hybrid
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, full-time

We are working with an established sustainability consultancy who are looking to appoint an Ecology Consultant to join their growing Nature team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist with UK consultancy experience who is looking to take on greater project responsibility while continuing to develop their technical expertise.
You will work across a varied portfolio of development projects, supporting clients from initial ecological assessment and field survey through to reporting, planning and project delivery.
The role will include:
- Undertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and UKHab surveys
- Delivering Biodiversity Net Gain assessments using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric
- Using QGIS to produce ecology and BNG mapping
- Undertaking and leading protected species surveys
- Preparing ecological and protected species reports
- Supporting bat surveys and identification
- Contributing to BREEAM Ecology assessments
- Liaising with clients and wider project teams
- Managing your own workload across multiple projects
We would particularly like to hear from Ecologists with experience in several of the following:
- UK ecological consultancy
- PEA and UKHab
- Biodiversity Net Gain
- Statutory Biodiversity Metric
- QGIS
- Protected species surveys
- Bat surveys and/or call analysis
- BREEAM Ecology
- EcIA or HRA
You will ideally hold a relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology or a related discipline, with professional membership of CIEEM or ISEP also desirable.
