The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious, driven, and innovative Technical Systems & Compliance Manager to join our Technical leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Technical, this role will be responsible for developing, managing, and continually improving the site's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. The successful candidate will champion technical excellence, food safety culture, compliance, and data-driven decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all customer, legal, regulatory, and certification requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously improve standards relating to BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.
  • Manage the supplier approval and monitoring programme, ensuring robust assessment and ongoing compliance of suppliers and raw materials.
  • Act as the lead contact for customer technical enquiries, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead site preparation for customer, third-party, and regulatory audits, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Drive food safety culture initiatives throughout the business.
  • Develop and implement technical KPI reporting systems to measure compliance, performance, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse trends and data relating to complaints, non-conformances, audits, supplier performance, and food safety metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action programmes.
  • Manage document control systems, ensuring procedures, specifications, and records are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, NPD, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to embed quality and compliance throughout the business.
  • Coach, mentor, and support technical team members, including the Systems & Compliance Coordinator.
  • Identify opportunities to digitise and modernise technical systems and reporting processes.
  • Support innovation and business growth while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality are maintained.


About You

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a food manufacturing technical or quality environment.
  • Proven experience managing Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, supplier approval, and food safety legislation.
  • Experience managing customer technical requirements and audits.
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience using Power BI, reporting platforms, or similar data visualisation tools.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments.


Desirable

  • Experience within infant nutrition, cereals, snacks, or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Lead Auditor qualification.
  • HACCP Level 4 qualification.
  • Experience implementing digital systems and technical innovation projects.
  • Experience leading and developing technical teams.
