Job title: Shunter Driver - HGV Class 1
Ad-hoc and Temporary cover
Location : London SS17
PAYE rates & work schedule:
Nights 18:00-06:00 - £28.66
We are looking for a reliable Shunter to join our team at the DHL London Gateway.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital part of our yard operations, you will ensure the warehouse flow remains seamless:
Trailer Movement: Safely moving trailers between holding bays and warehouse doors.
Coupling/Uncoupling: Connecting/disconnecting trailers, including air lines and landing gear.
Safety Checks: Performing thorough inspections for defects before any trailer movement.
Yard Efficiency: Maintaining an organized site to minimize risk and maximize loading speed. Requirements
Licence: Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) is required.
Experience: Previous shunting or TUG experience is highly preferred.
Mindset: A "safety-first" approach and the ability and flexibility to work the required shifts. There are possibilities for short notice shift availability or long-term plan.
Immediate start – assessments Monday to Friday between 08:00-16:00
HGV Class 1 driver will require:
Hold valid appropriate License (C+E)
No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, TT's or IN's)
Hold valid Tacho and CPC cards
At least 6 months road experience required.
