An established lifting and specialist-access company is recruiting a Bcker Operator/Class 2 Driver for its Wargrave depot near Reading.
The successful candidate must hold a Class 2 (Category C) driving licence and be able to commute reliably to the Wargrave yard.
The ideal candidate will already have experience operating mobile cranes and MEWPs. However, applicants with a Class 2 licence and suitable CPCS mobile crane training will be considered, with training provided on the MEWP side of the position.
Pay rates:
£17.00 per hour for candidates fully trained and competent in both mobile crane and MEWP operations
£15.00 per hour for candidates with mobile crane competency who require further MEWP training
Pay increased once the employee is fully trained, comfortable and competent on the MEWP equipment
The role will include:
Driving Class 2 vehicles from the Wargrave depot
Operating Bcker lifting equipment
Operating mobile cranes and, once trained, MEWPs
Completing daily vehicle and equipment safety checks
Setting up lifting equipment safely at customer sites
Assisting with lifting and access operations
Following lift plans, risk assessments and safe working procedures
Liaising professionally with customers and site teams
Looking after company vehicles, machinery and lifting equipment
Travelling to different sites as required
Staying away occasionally when projects require it
Essential requirements:
Class 2/Category C driving licence
CPCS mobile crane qualification or appropriate mobile crane training and competency
Practical lifting or plant-operating experience
Good understanding of site safety
Ability to commute to the Wargrave depot
Flexibility regarding travel, overtime and occasional overnight stays
Reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working as part of a site team
Highly desirable:
IPAF or other recognised MEWP qualification
Previous Bcker operating experience
Slinger/Signaller qualification
Experience operating truck-mounted lifting equipment
Candidates who have the required Class 2 licence and mobile crane background but lack MEWP experience are encouraged to apply, as the company can provide the necessary MEWP training.
