Primary LSA Chelmsford ASAP Start A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a temporary, full-time basis, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LSA or someone with a strong background supporting children with complex additional needs.
About the School The school has a small specialist provision supporting around four children full-time, alongside other pupils who access the base for shorter periods throughout the day. Two Early Years children also currently require significant support.
The provision includes a learning space, sensory room and outdoor area. The successful LSA will work alongside the existing LSA and SENDCO to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role As a Primary LSA, you will:
- Support children with complex additional needs on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Assist with engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Promote communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Support pupils within the learning, sensory and outdoor areas.
- Build positive relationships with children and staff.
- Work closely with the SENDCO and wider school team.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Have experience working with children in a primary, specialist or SEND setting.
- Be nurturing, patient, caring and enthusiastic.
- Have experience supporting children with additional needs.
- Be confident adapting activities to meet individual needs.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be proactive, flexible and committed to supporting children's development.
- Be legally entitled to work in the UK visa sponsorship is not available.
