HGV Class 2 Skip Driver

Location: Belvedere (DA17), Southeast London / Kent

Pay Rate: £185 per day

Working Days: Monday to Saturday (plus generous overtime opportunities)

Job Overview

We need a professional, experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy skip hire and waste management operation based in Belvedere (DA17).

You will deliver, drop off, exchange, and collect commercial and domestic skips across the local area and outer London.

Key Responsibilities

Driving and operating Class 2 skip loader vehicles safely and efficiently.
Delivering, dropping, exchanging, and picking up skips across residential, commercial, and construction sites.
Securing skip loads effectively using nets and sheeting before transit.
Performing mandatory daily pre-trip vehicle checks and reporting any defects immediately.
Completing daily delivery notes, manifests, or digital app updates accurately.
Ensuring full compliance with legal driving hours, tachograph regulations, and WTD (Working Time Directive).
Maintaining a professional and courteous manner when interacting with clients on site.

Requirements & Qualifications

Licence: Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driver's Licence.
CPC & Tacho: Valid Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
Experience: Proven experience operating skip loaders.
Skills: Strong spatial awareness for navigating tight access roads, narrow residential streets, and busy construction sites.
Fitness: Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks (sheeting loads, securing chains, positioning equipment).
Record: No more than 6 penalty points (strictly no DR or DD endorsements for insurance purposes).

Working Hours & Compensation

Daily Rate: £185.00 per day.
Schedule: Regular shifts running Monday through Saturday.
Overtime: High availability for extra hours and weekend overtime to boost earnings.
