A temporary opportunity is available for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a busy transport operation in Old Whittington. This role is suited to a reliable and safety-focused driver who takes pride in delivering goods professionally and on time.

This Chesterfield-based haulage business provides transport services using a varied fleet of vehicles and trailers. Its services include general haulage, abnormal-load transport, European haulage, crane-assisted transport and storage, supporting customers with planned and specialist delivery requirements.

Key responsibilities

Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly
Completing local and longer-distance deliveries as required
Carrying out vehicle checks before and after journeys
Securing loads correctly and reporting any defects or issues
Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate records
Following transport, road safety and site procedures
Communicating professionally with customers and site contacts

Skills and qualifications

Valid HGV Class 1 licence, category C+E
Driver CPC qualification and a valid digital tachograph card
Previous Class 1 driving experience
Strong understanding of vehicle safety and load security
Good time management and route-planning skills
Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
