HGV Class 1 Driver - Middleton, Manchester

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Middleton, Manchester on a full-time ongoing basis.

This is an excellent opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £20.06 per hour
• Overtime after 48 hours paid at x1.5

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Sunday (any 5 out of 7)
• Start times between 04:00 and 06:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
• Delivering food products to store locations
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Reporting vehicle defects or issues promptly
• Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years Category CE driving experience preferred
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10 or DD10 endorsements)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work

Training:

• Paid site induction
• Full industry-related training
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Experience handling double-decker trailers would be advantageous
• Additional training and support provided where required
