We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to support transport operations in the Old Whittington area. This temporary, day-shift opportunity offers £17 per hour, with payment made every Wednesday.
About the company
The employer is an established transport and haulage business serving the Chesterfield area. Its operations include a varied commercial vehicle fleet, general haulage, abnormal-load and crane-assisted transport, European haulage and storage services. This role supports the safe and efficient movement of goods as part of its transport operations.
Key responsibilities

• Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly
• Completing vehicle checks before and after journeys
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported in line with legal requirements
• Carrying out deliveries and collections professionally and on schedule
• Completing relevant delivery paperwork and transport records
• Reporting any vehicle, load or delivery issues promptly
• Maintaining high standards of safety and customer service Skills and qualifications
• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence
• Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Good knowledge of road safety and drivers' hours regulations
• Ability to carry out vehicle checks and follow loading instructions
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach
• Good communication skills and a responsible attitude
• Flexibility to meet operational requirements
