Junior Chef de Partie

Salary: £30,925.44 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full time

Join the catering team at St Edwards Oxford and develop your skills in a busy, high-quality kitchen environment.

As Junior Chef de Partie, you will work alongside experienced senior chefs to prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality food for pupils, staff and visitors. The Catering Department serves around 2,000 meals each day across breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as catering for a varied programme of events including charity balls, boarding house dinners, fine dining, weddings, sports events and summer schools.

You will support the preparation, production and delivery of menus, help ensure food is presented to a consistently high standard and play an active part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will also help with stock rotation, food safety, hygiene and waste management, and may occasionally take responsibility as a shift leader.

About you

You will have previous experience of producing food for large numbers of customers in a high-volume catering environment, together with an NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience. You will have a good understanding of food hygiene, HACCP, allergen management and health and safety, and be confident working to demanding service times while maintaining excellent standards of food quality and presentation.

Organised, reliable and positive in your approach, you will enjoy working as part of a team and be able to adapt quickly in a busy kitchen. Experience of fine dining, formal events or catering within an educational, hospitality or contract catering setting would be an advantage.
