Graphic Designer

£30k+ | Basildon | Full-time, Permanent | On-site

We’re looking for an experienced Creative Designer with packaging experience and a sharp eye, fresh ideas and a genuine passion for creating design that makes products stand out to join our fast-paced studio in Essex.

At PMS International, we design, manufacture and distribute an enormous variety of products – from toys, plush and licensed ranges to home, garden, pet care, health & beauty, seasonal and everyday essentials. With 7,500+ products in our range, there’s always something new to get your creative teeth into.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll join our Creative Team at our Basildon Head Office and play a key role in shaping how our products and brands look and feel.

You’ll:

• Create aspirational, innovative packaging across a wide variety of brands and product categories
• Develop original concepts and turn them into compelling visual stories
• Design graphics for packaging, print, digital, social media and advertising
• Take projects from initial concept through to polished, production-ready artwork
• Work with established brands, licensed properties and partner brand guidelines
• Balance exciting creative projects with a proportion of day-to-day artwork, adaptations and more routine design requirements – because a great creative team needs both!
• Enjoy a good level of autonomy, taking ownership of your workload, prioritising multiple projects and managing the associated project administration to keep everything organised, visible and moving forward
• Collaborate with teams across the business to turn commercial ideas into great creative work
• Experiment with emerging technology, including AI-powered creative and image-generation tools
• Keep pushing the creative standard by bringing new ideas, trends and techniques into the team

We want to give you the space to own your projects and manage your time effectively, so you’ll need to be as comfortable keeping on top of the detail and administration as you are getting stuck into the creative work.

We’d love to meet you if…

You’re an experienced designer who combines creative flair with strong commercial awareness.

You know how to make something look fantastic – but you also understand that great commercial design needs to work for the product, the customer, the brand and the brief.

Ideally, you’ll bring significant experience from a similar creative design role, alongside excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills.

You’ll have a strong understanding of colour, composition and typography, experience of packaging and print production, you understand cutter guides and have the confidence to develop and communicate a clear creative vision. Your portfolio will reflect this.

Experience working with recognised brands or licensed properties would be a major advantage, as would skills in photography, image editing or digital design.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is curious, diligent and full of ideas – a designer who enjoys seeing their work move beyond the screen and become a real product in the hands of customers.
