The Role

We're looking for a Junior Designer to join our team, supporting projects across the full design and delivery process from concept and space planning through to construction documentation. You'll work closely with the Lead Designer, Creative Designer, and Head of Design, while also taking ownership of your own projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Designer and Creative Designer as needed, including deputising in meetings when the Lead Designer is unavailable.
• Take ownership of your own projects, working across a range of sizes and levels of complexity.
• Create block plans, adjacency diagrams, and detailed designs, and assist with space planning in line with good drawing practice.
• Respond to sub-contractor queries throughout the design and construction process.
• Undertake surveys of building interiors and present findings to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Contribute to bid packages by preparing plans and specifications, delivering them within set deadlines.
• Support the team in preparing construction documents in line with project requirements.
• Ensure all work complies with building and accessibility regulations.
• Support the team in administering planning and listed building applications in line with planning regulations.
• Ensure all work produced meets LOOP's quality standards and brand guidelines.
• Build and maintain effective, positive relationships with internal teams, external partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Support the Head of Design in scheduling and delivering regular lunch-and-learn sessions for the design team.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

• Strong design thinking and visual communication skills.
• Ability to support concept development through sketches, models, and presentations.
• Excellent hand-drawing skills and a good sense of colour.
• Knowledge of technical drawings and documentation.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, along with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Good understanding of materials, construction, and spatial design.
• Ability to undertake ongoing research into furniture systems, products, finishes, and materials.
• An understanding of construction processes and statutory/planning requirements.
• AI Savvy

Qualifications & Attributes

• A degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with staff and clients.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach and good interpersonal skills.
• A proactive attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop.
• Self-motivated, with a commitment to achieving personal and company goals.
• A genuine enthusiasm for design and creativity.
• Willingness to develop strong client management skills.
