Functional Skills Maths Tutor - Self Employed

MD2 Recruitment Ltd are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Functional Skills Maths and English Tutors to support learners working towards Functional Skills qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for self-employed tutors who are passionate about helping young people and adults develop their confidence, knowledge and skills in Maths and English.

Maths Tutor Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths and/or English sessions.
• Assess learners' current abilities and identify areas for development.
• Create and implement individual learning plans.
• Prepare learners for Functional Skills examinations.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
• Maintain accurate learner records and reports where required.

Maths Tutor Requirements

• Previous experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Relevant teaching, tutoring or education qualification.
• Strong understanding of Functional Skills curriculum and assessment criteria.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners from a variety of backgrounds.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, ADHD, ASD or SEMH needs would be advantageous.
