dSb Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a fantastic retail business in Northern Ireland to recruit an Assistant/Junior Buyer to join their growing Buying team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer or Trainee Buyer who is looking to take on greater responsibility and develop their career within a commercial retail environment.

The Role

Providing essential support to the Buyers, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of commercially successful ranges, taking ownership of allocated categories and helping to maximise sales, margin and stock performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting range planning and buying activity across allocated categories
• Analysing sales, sell-through, stock, stock turn and margin performance
• Supporting supplier meetings and communication
• Assisting with OTB, seasonal budgets and intake targets
• Monitoring stock from purchase order through to delivery and selling
• Identifying opportunities around fast sellers, repeats and slow-moving stock
• Researching new brands and products relevant to the customer
• Supporting promotional and event activity
• Keeping up to date with market trends, emerging brands and competitor activity
• Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Stores and suppliers

About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, analytical and highly organised, with a genuine interest in retail, product and customer behaviour.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience within retail buying ideally with fashion or homewares or beauty
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good Excel and IT skills, with confidence using stock/reporting systems
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine interest in product, trends and the retail market
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• A full, clean driving licence and access to a car to attend supplier meetings - essential

Previous experience supporting Buying within fashion, beauty or home would be advantageous.

• Up to £35,000 depending on level of experience
• Hybrid working – 1 day from home although may vary dependent upon buying/supplier meetings
