Overview

Gallagher is seeking a Broking Placement Manager to join our Commercial Division in Belfast.

 

This is a highly visible role within our regional broking and placement team, supporting the delivery of Gallagher's placement strategy across both new and existing business. Working closely with our Broking Director, Account Executives, Account Handlers and insurer partners, you'll play a key role in securing competitive placement solutions, strengthening insurer relationships and driving positive outcomes for our clients.

 

You'll act as a key link between insurers and our client-facing teams, supporting complex placements, influencing broking strategy and helping the business win, retain and grow client relationships through effective market engagement.

How you'll make an impact

• Support the delivery of Gallagher's placement strategy across new and existing business within the region.
• Advise Account Executives and Account Handlers on broking strategy, leading negotiations with insurers to secure competitive placement solutions that support client retention and growth.
• Work closely with new business teams to position opportunities effectively in the market and improve conversion rates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regional insurer partners, working alongside the Broking Director to enhance market engagement and service delivery.
• Manage and pipeline opportunities with key insurer markets, maximising opportunities for both clients and the business.
• Support complex commercial placements across Property, Liability, Fleet and other commercial risks.
• Act as the key link between insurers and internal stakeholders, helping to resolve placement challenges and drive positive client outcomes.

About You

• Experience within commercial insurance broking, placement, underwriting or account management.
• We'd welcome applications from Placement Brokers, Commercial Brokers, Account Executives, Account Handlers with relationship management experience, or Underwriters looking to move into a market-facing role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lines insurance, particularly Property, Liability and Fleet.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with experience supporting complex placements.
• Holding or working towards Cert CII or Dip CII is desirable.
• Experience working within a regulated environment and delivering against targets and service standards.
• Commercially aware, highly organised and detail oriented.
• Proficient in Acturis.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
