Casual Technical Assistant – Connector Packing

What are you going to do:

We’re a specialist connector and cable business looking for reliable people to help with practical work, starting with connector packing.

You would start by counting, labelling and packing connectors and adaptors into kits. Some batches involve packing individual parts; others require checking that every component in a connector kit is present.

We provide the materials and clear instructions. The work calls for an efficient pace, accurate counts and neatly finished kits.

Packing work can be completed from home, at times that suit you. 

The amount of work available will vary, and there are no guaranteed weekly hours. Tell us how much you could take on, whether that’s a few hours a week or more.

For local home-based work, we’ll deliver the materials and collect the finished work. A clean desk or small work area is enough for the packing tasks.

Who would suit the role?

Someone dependable and trustworthy who is comfortable working independently on routine, repeatable tasks. You’ll need to follow instructions, check your work and ask questions when something is unclear.

Opportunities to develop

For people who enjoy the work and demonstrate reliability, there may be an opportunity to train in preparing and assembling cables. This calls for careful measurements, correct use of tools, neat assembly and consistent quality. We’ll provide the tools, prepared build packs and paid training.

Initial hands-on training for cable assembly would usually take place in Carnforth. If several people are learning, we may arrange a group training session in Lancaster.

The pay rate for cable assembly would be agreed separately once the work and responsibilities are defined.

We’re also working to grow the business, so there may be opportunities to contribute to other areas, such as product images or using AI tools to improve everyday workflows. These are optional opportunities for someone interested in getting more involved—not skills you need for the packing role. Different people may help with different tasks.
