Wiltshire College & University Centre is looking for a Minibus Driver to support the Faculty for Environment, Science & Enterprise with class trips, educational visits, events, and other activities across the college and wider community.

This is a varied and important role, helping learners access valuable experiences beyond the classroom while ensuring they travel safely, comfortably, and reliably. Youll play an important part in supporting teaching and learning, providing transport for learners and staff to a range of destinations.

What You'll DoDrive the College's minibus safely and responsibly, transporting learners and staff to class trips, educational visits, events, activities, and other approved destinationsPlan and follow agreed routes and schedules, ensuring passengers arrive safely and on timeProvide a friendly, professional, and helpful service to learners, staff, and other passengersCarry out daily vehicle checks before and after use, in line with college requirementsComplete any required vehicle safety and condition checks and promptly report faults or concernsKeep the minibus clean, safe, presentable, and in good working conditionEnsure passengers follow appropriate safety procedures while travellingSupport learners appropriately during journeys and maintain a calm, patient, and approachable mannerFollow all College policies and procedures, including safeguarding, Health & Safety, and minibus driver requirementsMaintain appropriate records relating to vehicle checks, journeys, incidents, or other required documentationCommunicate effectively with the relevant Faculty staff regarding journey arrangements, timings, destinations, and any issues arisingRespond appropriately to changes in arrangements or unexpected circumstances during tripsContribute to creating a positive and safe experience for learners during educational visitsAttend and participate in agreed College activities and relevant staff developmentMaintain your own continuing professional developmentUndertake First Aid duties when requiredCarry out other duties consistent with the general nature and responsibilities of the roleWhat You'll BringA full, valid driving licence with Cat D1 entitlement and no more than 6 current points.

Previous experience of driving a minibus or providing passenger transport would be desirableA strong commitment to passenger safety and responsible drivingGood knowledge and understanding of vehicle safety checks and the importance of reporting faults promptlyA reliable, punctual, and professional approach to workGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with learners and staffA calm, patient, and approachable manner when dealing with passengersThe ability to drive confidently in a variety of locations and road conditionsAn understanding of the importance of safeguarding and Health & Safety within an educational environmentThe ability to work flexibly and respond to variable hours and changing trip requirementsThe ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider College teamA willingness to undertake relevant training and maintain your continuing professional developmentFirst Aid training, or a willingness to undertake First Aid trainingA proactive and helpful approach, with a commitment to providing an excellent service to learners and staff?
