Location: Glasgow – f ully office-based. Applicants must currently live in Glasgow or the surrounding areas and must have a valid legal right to work in the UK . P lease note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Salary: £24,644 basic salaryOTE: Circa £40,000Hours: 40 hours per week. We're recruiting for an international consultancy that helps businesses access financial incentives to support innovation and growth. This is an entry-level graduate opportunity that does not require prior sales experience.
You'll receive structured training and ongoing development to build your commercial, communication, and business development skills. You'll join the Sales Development team, where your role will be to research prospective businesses, make contact with potential new clients and generate qualified meetings for the Business Development team.
What You'll Be Doing: Researching prospective businesses and industries to identify potential opportunitiesGenerating new business leads through outbound calls, email and other outreach channelsEngaging with prospective clients and building professional relationshipsQualifying potential opportunities to understand whether there is a suitable fit for the consultancy's servicesLearning how to communicate the consultancy's services clearly, confidently and commerciallyScheduling qualified meetings for the Business Development teamMaintaining accurate prospect and activity information within the CRMDeveloping your commercial skills through ongoing training while working towards weekly, monthly and quarterly lead-generation targetsThe role is highly activity-driven and includes regular outbound prospecting, so resilience, consistency and a positive approach to challenge are important.
What We're Looking For: A recent graduate at the beginning of their career, typically within 0–2 years of graduation; strong candidates with up to 3 years' post-graduation experience may also be consideredStrong, confident and professional communication skillsThe ability to build rapport with different types of peopleAmbition and a genuine interest in developing a long-term commercial careerResilience and the ability to stay motivated when faced with challenges or rejectionCuriosity, learning agility and a willingness to research and understand different businesses and industriesOpenness to coaching, feedback and continuous developmentGood organisation, attention to detail and a positive, proactive approach to achieving goalsNo previous sales experience is required.
We are particularly interested in graduates who are genuinely motivated to build a long-term career in commercial sales and business development, rather than viewing this as simply a short-term graduate opportunity. Your degree discipline is less important than your communication ability, ambition, resilience and commitment to developing within a commercial career path. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
