Senior Social Worker - Assessment Team

Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker looking to take the next step in your career? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join a dedicated Assessment Team within Children's Social Care in Middlesbrough.

About the Role

As a Senior Social Worker within the Assessment Team, you will play a key role in safeguarding children and supporting families by undertaking high-quality assessments, managing complex cases, and contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people.

You will be responsible for:

Completing statutory assessments and investigations.

Managing a varied caseload of children and families.

Undertaking Child and Family Assessments in line with legislation and best practice.

Working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective safeguarding and support plans.

Providing guidance and support to less experienced team members where required.

Ensuring accurate and timely recording of case information.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).

Enhanced DBS on update service

Registration with Social Work England.

Experience working within Children's Services, particularly Assessment, Safeguarding, or Front Door teams.

Strong assessment and analytical skills.

Sound knowledge of relevant child protection legislation and statutory guidance.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
