Job description
Part of Broadway, Nottingham, the lead organisation for Film Hub Midlands (FHM), and working in partnership with Flatpack, Birmingham (Broadway’s key partner for FHM strategy and delivery), you will lead the FHM team in successfully delivering regional BFI projects and overseeing regional investment from BFI into the Midlands, to develop and maintain a thriving film culture in the region.
You will have overall responsibility for the BFI Film Audience Network (FAN), and BFI NETWORK, , as well as our strategic support for exhibitors of all kinds in Midlands cinemas, arts centres and film festivals. You will be liaising with a range of partner organisations across the region, as well as with filmmakers in the region.
You will have exemplary project and people management skills as well as the ability to make and nurture strategic partnerships. You will ensure our strategy is delivered to the highest professional standards, is inclusive and equitable and meets the objectives of the Film Hub and wider BFI Film Audience Network.
You will oversee our partnerships and initiatives with film exhibition organisations to ensure that audiences across the Midlands can access the widest range of cinema. You will work with our Talent Executives to oversee short film and early feature development funding, industry-backed professional development and networking support to producers, writers and directors through our BFI NETWORK talent programmes.
Your knowledge and expertise will inform our strategy and build sustainability and capacity. You will be passionate about the transformative power of cultural cinema, supportive of early career talent, and good at outreach. You need to be an experienced, efficient and effective manager of projects, with meticulous planning and administrative skills. You must be willing to work on your own initiative, and meet deadlines consistently, whilst completing a wide variety of tasks to a high standard.
You will be comfortable and effective in managing a geographically dispersed team, using mixed communication methods: digital, remote and in-person.
You will be expected to travel around the region as part of the role, in order to build, maintain and develop current and potential partnerships.
Broadway supports diversity and inclusion, and as an organisation, recognises the need to address underrepresentation within our teams. Therefore, they encourage applications from global majority communities that are not adequately represented in our workforce, people living with disabilities, and people from all socio-economic backgrounds.
