This is a senior role for someone who can set a sales strategy and stay close to the detail. You will understand which opportunities are worth pursuing, how to build a dependable pipeline and how to win work at the right margin.

The role

Working closely with the Managing Director, Operations Manager and Finance Director, you will:

  • Take ownership of the sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are accurately qualified, progressed and forecast.
  • Present sales performance, forecasts, pipeline health and commercial risks to the board, with clear recommendations for action.

  • Review pricing and margins across opportunities, with particular focus on protecting profitability where work is subcontracted.
  • Support negotiations on significant contracts and build relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
  • Improve sales processes, reporting and accountability so the team has a clear view of performance and priorities.

About you

You will be an experienced sales leader with a track record of winning new business and developing high-performing teams in precision engineering, manufacturing or a closely related sector.

You will be confident discussing technical requirements with customers and commercial performance with the board. Strong forecasting, pipeline management and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to look beyond revenue and understand the margin each piece of work delivers.
